LUBAO -- Governor Lilia Pineda reminded recently all medical personnel of the 10 district and one provincial hospital to have the compassion and the heart for the poor.
“In order to provide good services to the people, you should have concern and sympathy for the unfortunate,” the governor said.
Facing the medical staff, the lady governor also warned ill-tempered nurses to immediately resign from their post if they cannot serve and assist the indigents with care.
“If you want to work here (in the hospital) you should be humble and respectful. Yes, they (the poor) are annoying and irritating sometimes but you should know better because you are educated,” she added.
The governor reiterated her call to “no balance billing policy” in which indigent Kapampangans will not pay for their hospitalization and no deposit is required to be admitted to the hospital.
The governor earlier lambasted Escolastica Romero District Hospital's medical personnel recently for the alleged lapses committed that led to the death of a seven-month-old patient.
The governor then assured the family of the victim for financial assistance from the Provincial Government and seek justice for the incident. (PR)
