Guv wants new shortlist of Nocppo chief choices

GOVERNOR Alfredo Marañon Jr. said he wants a new shortlist of candidates who will head the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo).

The governor, in a media interview Sunday, June 25, said he already saw the list, but has not chosen the next provincial police director.

The list includes Senior Superintendents Moises Villaceran, head of Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) Police Community Relations; Romeo Mangwag of PRO-NIR Regional Operations and Plans Division; Rodolfo Castil, current officer-in-charge of Nocppo.

The governor said the national headquarters recommended those included the list.

“I will ask again for another list,” he added.

Castil took over the helm of Nocppo after Senior Superintendent William Señoron was relieved from his post last March, following his alleged links to illegal drugs. (MPE)
