Hanah jins fly to Manila for CPJ nat’l tournament

FOLLOWING their success in the Dinagyang Taekwondo Tournament in Iloilo, the multi-titled Negros Occidental-based Hanah Taekwondo jins are looking to make another outstanding performance in the 2017 Carlos Palanca Jr. Taekwondo National Championships in Manila.

Hanah gym head coach Vic Feria said that seeing action are Mary Angeline Alcantara, a Grade 6 student from St. Scholastica’s Academy-Bacolod; Elynne Vic Pano of Negros Occidental High School; and Marcus Ernesto Hinojas of Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod.

Alcantara will fight in the 37-41kgs feather weight Cadet Division for 12-14 years old while Pano, in the 33 kgs below male.

The competition will also be part of Alcantara’s evaluation process before the final selection for the World Cadet Championships. At present, both Alcantara and Pano are part of the Cadet National Team.

Hinojas is looking to clinch a back-to-back gold in this tournament by competing in the Junior Division (15-17y/o). (HGD)
