Hanah jins give 4 golds, 4 silvers to NegOcc

MULTI-TITLED Hanah Taekwondo gym came out strong and contributed four golds and four silver medals to Negros Occidental in the recently-concluded 2018 Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet held in Iloilo City.

Leading the team is 2017 World Cadet Taekwondo Championships gold medalist Mary Angeline Alcantara from Living Stone International School, who ruled the Kyorugi event in the bantamweight category 44-46 kgs.

Her schoolmate Kaizzer Mohametano won the lightweight 55-59 kgs division while Dail Ramyel Pano from Negros Occidental High School dominated the finweight below 45 kgs Luigi Escasinas of Murcia Elementary School conquered the Grade School 144-152 cm.

Settling for silver medals were St. John’s Institute Caroline Dean Espinosa in the Kyorugi of the open weight category while Christian Dean Espinosa in the Poomsae event Individual A and earned another when paired with Creoz Agassi Celiz for the Team Poomsae event.

Negros Occidental finished over-all champions in the elementary boys with five golds and a bronze and second in the girls with two golds and five silvers.

The Negrense team also was second over-all in the secondary level behind Iloilo.
