DEPARTMENT of Health Secretary Paulyn Jean Rosell-Ubial will lead the inauguration of the Merceditas J. Montilla District Hospital in Barangay Canturay, Sipalay City, on Wednesday, October 12.
Sipalay City Mayor Oscar Montilla Jr. will welcome the guests and officials while property donor Merceditas Montilla will give a message.
Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. will also deliver an inaugural speech followed by the message of Rossel-Ubial.
In 2013, Montilla donated to the Provincial Government the two-hectare lot in Barangay Canturay, which is the site of the hospital building and the access road going to the health facility.
Last year, the Provincial Board passed a resolution approving the establishment of Merceditas J. Montilla District Hospital as a 10-bed infirmary after the Department of Health denied the 25-bed capacity application of the Capitol due to lack of manpower and facilities.
