ILOILO City Health Office (CHO) has announced the names of 12 villages considered to have most number of positive dengue cases to be prioritized in the city’s fogging and spraying activities.
CHO Doctor Bernard Caspe said the records show a total of 1,175 dengue hemorrhagic fever cases and three deaths covering the period January 1 to August 27.
The CHO has a remaining P3 million funds for the purchase of larvicides, pesticides, and Aqua K-Othrine chemicals to be used for residual indoor spraying against the mosquitoes.
Caspe said the people must be aware of the 4S measures and most importantly, the cleaning of their surroundings.
The CHO is doing everything to prevent the spread of dengue, Zika and chikungunya virus all carried by mosquitoes.
The concentrated spraying and fogging activities will be conducted in villages identified as with dengue and death cases.
The top 12 villages in Jaro district with dengue cases are Balabago with Alta Tierra Subdivision and Gran Plains Subdivision, Sambag, Dungon B, Buhang, MH del Pilar, Tabuc Suba, Montinola, MV Hechanova, Quintin Salas, Bitoon, and Tacas.
Other barangays with dengue cases are Guzman Jesena, Bakhaw, Bolilao and Onate de Leon in Manduriao district, Jereos and Lopez Jaena Sur in La Paz district, Calaparan, Quezon, Sooc, Sto Nino and Dulunan in Arevalo district, and Calumpang, Molo district.
