THE Davao City Health Office-Population Division bared that they won't just randomly distribute condoms to high school students as oppositors to Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health (RPRH) law are thinking.
During the Connect media forum held last Friday at SM Lanang, CHO-Population Division head Jeff Fuentes said that what they are going to do is to train a peer counselor. These peer counselors will be the ones to talk to students and analyze who among them are sexually active.
"What can you suggest us to do? Pray them over?" Fuentes said referring to the sexually active teenagers.
He said there will be diagnostic procedures that will be done in analying who among these students are sexually active and that's the only time they will give these students condom.
"This is to prevent unwanted pregnancies among females, spread of sexually transmitted diseases and even HIV/Aids," he added.
"This is because we don't talk about sex in the family, but we are doing it. So what do we do with these sexually active teeners, we just cannot pray over them, can we?" he said referring to sex as taboo topic in school and even in the family.
