THE Pamahaw sa Dabaw: Women in Sports Davao Breakfast Forum resumed Saturday, February 18, tackling public policies for sports leaders and athlete's health at the Lispher Inn function room at Juna Subdivision in Matina, Davao City.
Eminel Jane Alvior, chair of Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) Governance Department, discussed the public policies for sports leaders while Louella Go-Oczon St. Alexius Rehabilitation and Orthopedic Center discussed Healthy Athlete Today and Tomorrow.
Alvior underscored the importance of having policies in pushing for advocacies which will serve as guidelines for sports leaders to make good decisions.
Oczon illustrated some useful tips for coaches on how to handle the athlete's physical body and to keep them away from serious injuries.
She also said that leaders and coaches should have the initiative to take care of their athletes because there are more opportunities that await them apart from sports.
AdDU athletic director Noli Ayo and Davao City Bowlers Association (Daciba) president Jerson Tamayo were the male participants who graced the women-empowerment activity presented by its core members Rose Lanticse, JercylLerin and Celina Simone Jaldon.
Philippine Rugby Football Union development officer Blessie Kate Delos Santos, Ledina Casaljan of Philcycling and Infinity More than Medals wushu taolu facilitator Beverly Paguitan were also in attendance. (ABM)
