A HIGH-VALUE target (HVT), who allegedly tried to shoot the agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Central Visayas, was killed in Sitio Macroville, Barangay Kamputhaw on Tuesday evening, August 15.
The HVT was identified as Roberto "Bao" Cruzpero, 50, who came from a drug rehabilitation program in Daanbantayan.
Agents transacted with Cruzpero but when he sensed that he was dealing with authorities he allegedly tried to pull out his caliber .38 revolver loaded with six live bullets at 8:40 p.m.
Alicia, Cruzpero's mother, lamented the death of her son, who was third of six children.
"He was trying to turn a new leaf and even entered rehab," she told reporters.
The PDEA-Central Visayas recovered 10 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or "shabu" which has an estimated market value of P30,000.
Cruzpero was placed under one month surveillance. (JOB/VoxPop Cebu)
