SOME 300 sales agents and their unit managers of 8990 Housing Development Corporation (HDC) Davao were given a morale-booster as 8990 Holdings, Inc. executives graced their sales rally at SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier in Davao City Thursday, October 13.
Januario Jesus Gregorio Atencio III, 8990 president, lauded the participants as he shared how the company in Davao grew since they started to hold office in front of City Hall about 10 years ago. He said from the old location, the office then moved to Bo. Obrero and then relocated to its current address along Quirino Avenue, fronting Palma Gil Elementary School, six years ago.
“Meron talagang history ang 8990 and Davao City. We started small yet today, we have become the biggest developer in Davao City. Next week I’m coming back as 8990 will be awarded as Number 1 developer of Mindanao and that is all because of you,” Atencio said, eliciting cheers and applause from his audience.
He urged them to sell at least one unit a month, a minimum quota that is easy to achieve, for them to start seeing and experiencing the change they so long for in their lives.
Success in real estate business, according to him, is not about being accredited to as many developers.
“Focus is everything in sales,” he said, adding that catering to more developers means studying more products, understanding more documentation processes and computing commissions, among other concerns.
He has seen more agents who are succeeding in real estate as they focus only in selling Deca Homes than those who have burdened themselves with selling other developers, too. Those who sell only Deca Homes, he said, become experts through time and they become more effective in the field.
Atencio cited those who started with nothing but have grown to own house and lot units, buy vehicles, and send their children to premier universities.
“Go forth and multiply. Encourage others to join 8990 and make a career out of selling Deca Homes. Not too many people are given the opportunity kasi we have to understand that this is all a privilege. Please sell consistently and God bless you,” Atencio ended.
Willibaldo Uy, 8990 chief operating officer (COO), for his part, said they’ve been holding sales rallies in different branches the past two weeks.
“I’m very happy. Looking at least 300 sales partners of Deca now is very inspiring. We get bigger and bigger figures every year. We could not have done this without you as our partners. Together we shall grow and together we shall reap the benefits,” Uy said during his welcome message.
He said 8990 continues to invest in sales rallies as the company does not want to sit on its laurels but instead continue to improve the products and the quality to give the best value for money to their clients.
Engineer Miriam Arianne Symmes, 8990 consultant, also underscored the importance of professionalism among sales agents as she also encouraged them to be confident in the product and brand that they sell as demand for housing increases every year.
She also cited 8990’s growth with revenues of P189 million when it started and growing to P9.6 billion in 2015.
Meanwhile, 8990 HDC Davao awarded brand new motorcycles to 100 more Deca Homes owners last September 24 in line with the company’s Drive Your Home to Pag-ibig promo.
Deca homebuyers whose accounts have been migrated to Pag-ibig Fund availed of the promo. Several batches of motorcycle awarding have already been held in the past and more Deca homeowners soon get their new vehicles.
Danilon Quimpo, 52, of Deca Homes Indangan thanked 8990 for the opportunity to own a motorcycle, saying, “Dako kaayo ning tabang sa among pamilya (This is a big help to our family).”
Ongoing projects of 8990 HDC Davao are Deca Home Resort Residences in Barangay Tacunan, Tugbok District; DHI and Deca Homes Catalunan Grande.
