The project, worth P100 million, is under the Defensor administration's Hospital Efficiency Assurance through Reform and Transformation (Heart) program, which aims to upgrade all the 12 hospitals run by the Province.
Inaugurated were the new Outpatient Department comprising four major departments: Orthopedics, EENT, Animal Bite Treatment Center, and Teen Moms Clinic.
Also inaugurated were the new Medical Ward, Surgical Ward, Operating Room Complex with six rooms, OB Ward, elevator, Nurses Dorm, Morgue, big Emergency Room with different examining areas for different specialties, Dietary, Canteen and Basement for Laundry.
Provincial Administrator Raul Banias, concurrent chief of the Hospital Management Office, said there is also an ongoing project under the Hospital Facilities Enhancement Project of the Department of Health amounting to P57.5 million, which includes the improvement of the water system and landscaping.
Dr. Prem Parcon, chief of IPH, said the new buildings and facilities would mean a more improved and better service for the public.
Defensor reminded all the hospital staff, both medical and non-medical, to also improve their quality of service to avoid complaints from their clients.
He said the hospital's new structures and facilities should be complemented with total customer satisfaction.
"All of these would be worthless if our people will not be satisfied with our service," Defensor said.
Meanwhile, the hospital chiefs turned over a check amounting to P170,450,000 to the general fund as payment of the 12 hospitals as Local Economic Enterprises to the subsidy and cash advances given by the provincial government for the hospitals for its 2017 operation.
