AN INDIAN national was detained after he allegedly raped a 13-year-old girl inside a pension house last August 12, in the village of Canelar, Zamboanga City.
Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director said the suspect, Gur Preet Singh, 31, a resident of Tetuan village, is charged with rape.
Albarico said Singh was arrested around 11:45 a.m. Monday, August 14, near a store in Upper Calarian village.
He said charges for violation of the Anti-Rape Law of 1997 have been filed against Singh, who availed of his rights to preliminary investigation and executed a waiver pursuant to Article 125 of the Revised Penal Code.
