WORLD Boxing Organization (WBO) Pacific welterweight champion Jay-Ar "The Hitman" Inson will try to improve its clean record when he squares off against African boxer Mbenge Thulane in a non-title match in South Africa on June 10.
The 26-year-old native of Panabo, who is currently holding a clean record of 13 wins with nine knock-outs, said he is well prepared and confident to win the 10-round bout against the African boxer who holds a record of 10 wins with also 10 knockouts.
"Kusog ug hawod siya nga boxer pero idaan nako siya sa counter ug dili mag dali-dali. Kailangan magpaabot sa open para maka counter unya maka buhi ug kusog na sumbag (He is a good and strong boxer but I will lean on my counterpunches and stay patient to look for an opening shot)," Inson said.
Inson, who is currently training with Team Pacman under the supervision of his boxing trainer Samson Amongo and manager Nonoy Neri, said they started their rigid training four months ago.
"Kung naay chance iknock-out sir, go for knock-out (I'll knock him out when I get the chance)," Inson said.
Inson, meanwhile, stopped Japanese boxer Ryota Yada via technical knockout last December.
