Interesting facts about Gal Gadot

Published on

FOLLOWING the success of “Wonder Woman,” which gave Gal Gadot her first title-role, a lot of movie fans from all over the world got extra interested about her.

While the superhero film was not her first Hollywood project, it was only through it that more moviegoers seemed to have fallen in love with her.

It can be recalled that she first appeared as Gisele Yashar in “The Fast and the Furious” franchise, particularly in the fifth, sixth, and seventh installments.

Apart from being the lead star of the widely-watched “Wonder Woman” movie, what are the other interesting facts about the Israeli model and actress that will surely make all her fans fall in love with her even more? Here are some of the info we have gathered:

1. The beauty queen-turned-actress is already a mother of two. She got married in September 2008 to Yaron Versano, a real estate developer. Gadot gave birth to their first daughter in 2011, and the second just this March. Can’t believe it? Well, me neither. In fact, several reports have even confirmed that the actress was actually pregnant when shooting some of the “Wonder Woman” scenes.

2. She was once a “rebellious” beauty queen. At 19, Gadot represented Israel to the 2004 Miss Universe pageant. Contrary to some beauties who have been so determined to win a crown from the prestigious international beauty contest, Gadot appeared to have ruined her chance.

In an interview with People, she shared that she “rebelled” at the Miss Universe tilt because she did not want her feat as Miss Israel to be replicated.

“I was 19. I wasn’t that type of girl. I rebelled. I came down late. I showed up late to everything. They make you wear evening gowns for breakfast. I didn’t wear evening gowns to breakfast. I didn’t wear my makeup,” she narrated.

3. She never stops improving herself. In real life, the mother-of-two is also a Wonder Woman. She is someone, who just keeps on thinking about continuously making herself better. While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Gadot said that she always tries to be the best version of herself.

“I try not to think about being a role model, I try to be the best version of myself, period,” she pointed out.

4. She was a former member of the Israel Defense Forces. The 32-year-old beauty may look too girly to become part of the army. However, it is interesting to note that she served the organization for two years. As a combat trainer, she reportedly learned discipline and respect.

5. She was once the face of one of Gucci’s perfume lines. In 2005, the gorgeous mom became the face of Bamboo, a fragrance from the Italian luxury brand. In the said campaign, she was seen half-naked while playing a piano.

6. She could have been a lawyer now if not for the talent agent, who was consistent and persistent to get her. The Grapevine reported that in 2007, Gadot, who was fresh from finishing her first year in law school, was approached by an agent to audition to become a Bond Girl. She did not make the cut, though.

Amid this, the 5-foot-9-inch actress emphasized that it made her realize something.

“It was like, ‘Oh, my God, this is so much more fun than law school!’”

Following said experience, the newest Wonder Woman landed a lead role in an Israeli show, which started her acting career.
