THE dump trucks of IPM Construction and Development Corp. (IPM-CDC) have already arrived in Bacolod City and will be presented to the public in time for the start of their garbage collection and hauling operations on September 2, a company official said.
Abraham Genuino, IPM-CDC project director, said they are thankful for the City Government and the City Council for their unanimous action in the ratification of the contract.
During their session on Wednesday, the SP ratified the contract of services entered into by the city government with the IPM-CDC.
Councilor Caesar Distrito, chairman of committee on laws, said that after the ratification, the contractor will submit the performance bond so that they will be given a notice to proceed.
The contract for the collection, hauling and disposal of garbage and solid waste management services amounts to P59.433 million, or P14.858 million per month for the period September 2, 2016 to December 31, 2016.
The Metro Manila-based IPM-CDC will replace the Bacolod-based Dynamic Builders and Construction Co. (Phil.).
Genuino said they are almost ready to start as their dump trucks, equipment, and manpower are already in place.
The dump trucks and equipment are parked in an undisclosed location in Bacolod.
Bids and Awards Committee chair Goldwyn Nifras said the contractor is required to have 10 units of 10 wheeler dump trucks, 10 mini compactors, four mini dump trucks, two big compactors, two hooklift truck, a payloader, a tow truck, a fuel tanker, two Elf service vehicles, and five motorcycles, or a total of 38 units.
Meanwhile, the City Government is facing difficulty on how to pay the Dynamic Builders the amount of P43 million for its garbage collection services from June 27 to July 31 this year.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia said the previous administration allotted P65 million for the two-month extension given to Dynamic Builders, and that P30 million has already been utilized for the June 1 to 26 payment.
He added that they found out that the payment will be taken from the Annual Investment Plan or the 20 percent Development Fund.
The Department of Budget and Management regional office forwarded the city’s query on the funding to its central office in Manila.
