BEAUTY pageants may not interest her, but one thing is certain: Isabelle Daza has the looks to win a Miss Universe crown.
The television actress impressed everyone when she came recreating the 1969 Miss Universe winning look of her mom, Gloria Diaz, at Tim Yap’s 40th birthday bash held Thursday evening in Taguig City.
Wearing a swimsuit, sash, cape and crown, Daza sashayed the party as if she was the one who bagged the coveted title some 47 years ago.
Daza even re-enacted her mother’s reaction when Diaz was announced as the pageant’s winner back in 1969.
To make matters extra special, Diaz was also in the party together with another Miss Universe winner Margie Moran-Floreindo. The three even posed for one epic photo.
Daza, who recently got married to French businessman Adrien Semblat, said in previous interviews that beauty pageants are not her thing but she has utmost respect to girls who joined beauty pageants.
The actress said that even if she’s the daughter of the first Filipina Miss Universe, Diaz never pressured her to join the local competition.
"Laging sinasabi ng mom ko na tama na yung isang beauty queen sa pamilya. I think my mom is just being protective kasi mahirap talaga ang beauty pageant. You have to be the most beautiful and most intelligent,” she said.
Daza added: "I don’t want to be in a competition to prove that I’m the most beautiful because I don’t feel the need to do that.” (VoxPop Philippines)
