J' TREND Controls again leaned on its veterans to frustrate  Antones Lines, 79-68 and took the 1st Bing Uy Soyao (Bus) Memorial Cup on Saturday at JGC Gym-Goldenfields in Bacolod City.

The Controllers whacked the Transporters with a searing 35-20 spurt in the last quarter with Bert Celis hitting 14 of his game high 21 points.

Celis was supported by John Tumamot's 15 markers, Edmund Sibaya's 13 and Rex Bayer's 12 points. But it was Melvin Baclay's two triples all in the final canto which erased whatever hopes Antones have for this final game.

Antones Lines led 30-24 after a jack rabbit start with Wendel Antones hitting 3-for-3 triples in succession. W. Antones and Boy Ohoylan scored 9 apiece overshadowed only by the 14 points of Kokoy Fuentebella, 12 by Bebs Antones and 10 of Hermie Derwill.

Judge Marketing had an easy workout for third place as Baciwa came in late and declared default.

In a fellowship which followed at JM Bodega at Brgy. Estefania, Bus Group plans to continue with the Bus Memorial Cup hinting a perpetual Cup to be won thrice by a Huskies team.
