THE warden of Negros Occidental District Jail (NODJ) at Barangay Abuanan in Bago City was relieved from her post two days after two inmates escaped on April 9.
rSenior Inspector Adriano Paracueles, former chief of operations of Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-Negros Island Region (BJMP-NIR) and now warden of Victorias City District Jail, confirmed to VoxPop Bacolod that the relief order of the NODJ warden Ruth Estales came from the national headquarters.
Ramon Ventura Jr. and Vercilito Capulong escaped from NODJ by jumping from the wall behind the jail into a vacant lot with the use of a pole or ladder.
Ventura was recaptured at Barangay Buenavista, Murcia town a day after when he sent surrender feelers through his relatives. He was brought to Metro Bacolod District Jail-Special Intensive Care Area at Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City.
Capulong remains at-large.
Estales was assigned as provincial jail administrator of Negros Occidental while Senior Inspector Castle Masip from Cadiz City District Jail replaced Estales as warden of NODJ.
Senior Inspector Ian Karl Niaga from Victorias City District Jail replaced Masip in Cadiz City while Paracueles assumed Niaga's post.
Senior Inspector Giovanni Gorospe, assistant warden of Dumaguete City District Jail in Negros Oriental, was transferred to the BJMP-NIR, replacing Paracueles as chief of operations of the regional office.
