Jake Ejercito on being a father to Ellie: 'I've never denied it'

THE truth that he fathered Andi Eigenmann's four-year-old daughter Ellie also came as a surprise to Jake Ejercito.

This was revealed by Ejercito himself, the son of Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada and former actress Laarni Enriquez, in an exclusive interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph).

According to Ejercito, he knew about it a year ago after undergoing DNA testing.

"Let's put it this way, when I found out, nagulat ako. I was really surprised. But I'm happy and I have no regrets," he said.

Ejercito maintained that he was present and never left throughout Eigenmann's pregnancy.

"Since her conception, nasa tiyan pa lang siya ni Andi, I was there. I've been there ever since."

He's just thankful now that the truth is out in the open, he could openly talk about Ellie in the public.

"Hindi naman deserve ni Ellie na itago. Never ko naman siyang ikinahiya. I've never denied it. Never pinpointed on anyone. All I wanted is to protect Ellie. Kasi ayoko talagang pag-usapan."

Ejercito said that if in previous interview he failed to clarify the paternity issue, it is because he's protecting his child.

"Yung mga times I didn't answer directly or straightforwardly, it's all because I was trying to protect Ellie. Kasi di ba, ang daming parties involved."

So what changed now? Ejercito said he's more motivated.

He also wishes to see Ellie more often even though he's not in good terms with Eigenmann.

"Life has a whole new meaning. Mas responsible rin in a way. Magulo, but I am happy. Pero I wish na sana mas nakikita ko pa si [Ellie],” Ejercito ended.

To recall, the truth about Ellie’s father was revealed by Eigenmann’s half-sister, Max, in a radio podcast. (Sunnex)
