PANABO City pride Jay-ar "The Hitman" Inson of Team Pacman absorbed his first defeat after losing to African boxer Thulani Mbenge via unanimous decision in the welterweight division clash last Saturday, June 10, at the Emperor's Palace, Kempton Park, South Africa.
Inson, who is currently the reigning World Boxing Organization (WBO) Pacific welterweight champion, dropped his record to 13 wins (nine knockouts) and one loss while Mbenge kept its unbeaten card in 11 outings.
Inson, in a Facebook chat with VoxPop Davao, has accepted his fate, citing his opponent as tough and veteran fighter.
He also apologized to all who supported him.
"Salamat kaayo sa nag-pray og nagsuporta sa akoa labi na sa akoang family, manager ug coaches. Sorry kaayo napildi ko (I would like to thank those who prayed and supported me especially my family, manager and coaches. I'm so sorry I lost)," he said.
He last scored a seventh round stoppage of Ryota Yada in December last year in Japan before losing to the African.
Inson arrived in Davao City on Tuesday, June 13, along with his manager Nonoy Neri and coach Samson Amongo.
