PAUL Jumamil of Rider Omega Tri Team and Karen Andrea Manayon of TLTG-Omega topped their respective categories at the close of the 32nd Kadayawan Triathlon Sprint held at the Villa Josefina Resort Village, Toril, Davao City, on Sunday, August 27.
Jumamil timed a total of one hour, two minutes and 11 seconds to emerge men's overall champion, beating national team junior elite member Joshua Alexander Ramos (1:06.40) and Godwin Jacob Taylor of Caltex-Delo Tribu (1:07.46) who placed second and third, respectively.
Jumamil finished the swim leg in 9:23 followed by Ramos (9:25). Jumamil registered 33:31 in bike and kept his lead in the run event (19:17).
Manayon, a junior triathlete from Talisay City, Cebu, ruled the women's event with a time of 1:11.52 to race past Nicole Danielle Eijansantos of Podium Boutique Hotel Tri Team (1:12.34) and En Torres of Rider Omega Tri Team (1:18.49).
Team GRSL, meanwhile, secured the relay title after finishing at 1:10:52, besting Team Davao 1 (1:11.11) and Team Davao 2 (1:19.28) in the event presented by the city government of Davao through the Sports Development Division-City Mayor's Office in coordination with Triathlon Association of Davao (Triad).
Other champions were Jed Polistico of Tri-Nitarian Wildcasts-GRSL (male 25-29), Nestor Madula of Team Somats (male 30-34), Jasper Josemar Caisip of Tri-Nitarian Wildcast-GRLS (male 19-below), Eljune Jay Ayag of Bukids (male 20-24), Gideon Demafeliz of Base Camp Dragon (male 35-39), Leslie Herrero of Activo Trivengers/Tri SOS (female 25-29), Dave Ferris of Somats (male 45-49), Catherine Arias of Somats (female 40-44), Gregie Pamakid of Caltex-Delo Tribu (male 40-44), Kimi Jade Wee of Tri-Nitarian Wildcats-GRSL (female 19-below), Daniel Singson Dumlao of Sunrun-Triad (male 55-59), Esteban Co of Tri-Generals (male 50-54), Shawn Garcia of Trisibots (male 20-24) and Glenda Albacite Digma of Triad (female 30-34).
