Kadayawan duckpin eyes 20 teams

SOME 20 bowling teams will vie for the Sunday Bowlers Club (SBC)-organized 32nd Kadayawan sa Dabaw Open Bowling Tournament that will roll off at 7 p.m. on August 5 at the Fairlanes Bowling Center along Florentino Torres Street, Davao City.

SBC representative Joe Torres, in yesterday's Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum held at the NCCC Mall Davao B3 Family Room, said defending champion Homer will try to retain its title against other Davao City-based teams in the annual bowlfest presented by the city government of Davao through Sports Development Division-City Mayors Office (SDD-CMO).

Teams shall be composed of five members to play in a six-game elimination series.

Federation of Duckpin Bowlers of the Philippines (Fedbop) house rules will be applied.

Succeeding games will be held on August 8 and 10 at the same venue.

The championship is set on August 12.

Registration is pegged at P1,000 per team inclusive of alley fees.

Cash prizes of P12,000, P9,000, P7,000 and P5,000 and trophies will be awarded to the top four teams.

The highest pinning, highest individual average, highest individual single and double score and highest team single and double will also receive cash prizes.

A two-game master qualifying even slated on August 10 also stakes cash prizes.
