BAR Mixologists from all over Mindanao and the Visayas will surprise Cagayan de Oro City in the upcoming "Let's Flair Cagayan" bartending competition at the Limketkai Mall Activity Center on July 28.
With his aim of showcasing the talents of amateur bartenders in the city, Kagay-anon bartending legend Renato Estrabela decided to come up with the competition.
Flair bartending, Estrabela said, will amaze the spectators because while mixing cocktails, the bartenders will add up throwing exhibitions and other spectacles in the craft.
"Amazing jud ni sya nga lantawon para sa mga muadto didto. Aside from mixing their cocktails ang mga bartender participants kay naay mga buhaton nga flair bartending performances," Estrabela said.
Let's Flair Cagayan will feature 14 participants in the student category and another 14 on the professional category. These 28 contestants come from various points in Mindanao such as Cagayan de Oro, Surigao, Davao, Zamboanga, and also IloIlo City in Vasayas.
The student category will start at 8 a.m. and will be followed by the professional category in the afternoon. Everyone is invited to watch the competition at the Limketkai Mall ground floor activity center.
Estrabela said that the eight chosen judges are master flair bartenders or bar owner in the country. The winners will be given a trophy, certificate, and cash prizes.
"I think that the bartending industry here in Cagayan needs a boost and this is exactly what we need, an event that will inspire future bartenders to apply themselves in the field," Estrabela said.
