THE Kilusang Pagbabago (KP) in Negros Island Region (NIR) marked its first anniversary over the weekend with an assurance to coordinate with the National Government to provide basic services to the people.
The event was themed: “Continue the Struggle for Real Change” which aims to help Negrense constituents improve their way of living.
The organization, which supports President Rodrigo Duterte, started in August 2016.
KP-NIR spokesperson Archie Baribar on Sunday, August 13, said the dissolution of NIR is a non-issue for their officers and members as they will still focus more on what they can share to the people.
“We are trying to get in touch with agencies and offices in the national level to support the basic services for those in the provincial level,” he said.
Baribar added that part of their priorities are facilitating issues with government agencies and campaigning for the eradication of illegal drugs.
At present, KP-NIR has 700 officers and about 10,000 members.
Undersecretary Austere Panadero of Department of Interior and Local Government and Assistant Jonas Soriano of the Office of the Cabinet Secretary were the organization’s guests during the celebration held at Bacolod Arts, Youth, and Sports Center in Bacolod City.
