A LABORER was shot to death by his relative who also got injured at Purok Kabayabasan, Barangay Montilla in Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental Thursday night, June 15,.
Police identified the victim as Efraem Publador, 40, while the suspect, Ronie Ortoste, 43, was injured.
Investigation showed that Publador, armed with a bolo, challenged Ortoste to a fistfight. The latter confronted the victim, who hacked him.
Ortoste tried to ran away, but the victim kept on hitting him which prompted him to shoot Publador several times.
Publador was declared dead at a hospital.
Meanwhile, another man was shot to death by three unidentified assailants at Sitio Proper, Barangay Macasilao in Calatrava town on the same day.
The fatality was identified as Benedicto Asarze, 56.
Police records showed that around 7 a.m. Asarze was on his way to a nearby store to buy medicine when he was blocked by the assailants, who were all wearing bonnets.
Armed with a .45 caliber pistol, one of the three fired at him. He succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
Police recovered 10 fired bullets of the said firearm.
