ZAMBOANGA City First District Representative Celso Lobregat is speeding up the passage of his proposed laws in Congress concerning road conversion to realize his prime objective of creating additional engineering district.
Lobregat said a second engineering district means additional resources and infrastructures coming from the National Government for Zamboanga City.
Lobregat said the city still lacks the required number of national roads under the jurisdiction and supervision of the Department of Public Works and Highways to be able to have another engineering district.
He filed six House Bills to convert 15 local roads to national roads, enabling this city to meet the requirements for the creation of the second engineering districts.
“Having a second engineering district in Zamboanga means more infrastructures and is a plus factor for our city,” Lobregat said.
Lobregat said the City Government can use the local budget for road repairs and rehabilitation to other purposes, where one of the local roads will be converted into national roads.
