BACOLOD City Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya said Tuesday he is open to consultation and suggestions regarding Charter Change (Chacha) leading to federalism.
He said that after majority of the members of the House of
Representatives voted to transforming Congress into a Constituent Assembly, they are now waiting for the next move from the House leadership.
“I welcome any position paper on Chacha,” Gasataya said.
He said that while he is also open to the proposed changes in some sections of the Constitution especially pertaining to term extension, he would rather prefer to focus on changing the form of government to federalism which is the main purpose of changing the Constitution.
“We are waiting for the start of the deliberation on which provisions of the Constitution will be changed,” Gasataya said.
He said that he is backing federalism that would empower the local government units.
