AFTER passing Larry Bird in the Most Triple Doubles in NBA History with 60 last night (Monday morning Philippine time), he gets another one in a win against the Washington Wizards.
Coming off from an impressive win in their homefloor against the Utah Jazz last night, the Cleveland Cavaliers looked to extend their winning streak to five as they marched into Washington to face John Wall and the Wizards.
It was a back-and-forth game in the first quarter as both teams were solid in the offensive and having a counter-attack everytime an opponent makes a run to push the lead. Cavaliers led the first quarter by 4, 27-23.
By the second quarter, James served more as a facilitator than a scorer as he looked for his teammates who were open and had the better chance of making the shot. He ended the quarter having already 8 assists. But the Wizards had made a small run to tie the game 60-60 all by the end of the half.
Bradley Beal carried his team in the third quarter to not let the Cavaliers lead by a large margin by ending the quarter with 25 points alongside John Wall who had 15 and having them tied to the Cavaliers again 83-83.
By the 4th quarter, the Cavalier defense stepped up at the same time as James was still being brilliant in the passing lanes and in the rebounding and defensive category as his team held the Wizards to just 16 points in that pivotal quarter.
The Cavaliers won by 7 points, 106-99.
LeBron James got his 61st triple double with 20 points, 15 assists and 12 rebounds in 41 minutes of play. The highest scorer for the Cavaliers was Kevin Love with his 25 points and 9 rebounds.
For the Wizards, Bradley Beal played mostly in the game with 43 minutes and was able to score 27 points and 30 percent from the three-point line making only 4 of his 13 attempts.
