A 16-KILOMETER tool road on the west lateral FVR Megadike will soon be constructed. The proponent is former Porac municipal councilor and Philippine Municipal Councilors League-Pampanga Chapter president Mike Tapang.
The project is expected to loosen traffic along the congested Porac-Angeles road and the Angeles-San Fernando road.
Recently, Tapang has presented to Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda the plans for the project and it seems that the Provincial Government has appreciated the proposed project just to decongest our roads due to heavy volume of vehicles especially during rush hours.
If pushed through, the project will comprise of a four-lane toll road on the widened dike that will serve not only to control floodwaters and lahar but also as an alternate route for vehicles that will give them convenience and shortened travel time.
The project is long overdue. It has been proposed since then even the time of former members of the Provincial Board as the motoring public clamored for more alternate roads in the fast-developing, fast-urbanizing province.
Once the construction be completed, it will connect Porac to the Gapan-San Fernando-Olongapo road in Bacolor town. The proposed toll road is also linked to the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) in Porac town.

If we are to take the word of Angeles City mayor and League of City Mayors of the Philippines (LCMP) president Edgardo Pamintuan, there will be no village elections this coming October. Instead, the government shall appoint officers-in-charge in all villages in the country.
As an ally of President Rodrigo Duterte and other high-ranking elected public officials, Mayor Pamintuan is inside the kitchen who knows what is cooking. He knows even merely the smell of what dish is being prepared.
There are various speculations and assumptions on what will happen to our village elections since their terms of office are likewise overdue. At the moment, President Duterte is not yet convince on the number of village officials whom he accused of being involved in illegal drugs activities.

Current Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) President Alex Cauigiran’s aspiration of serving Angeleños through the city hall is also overdue. Who knows that he will be the one to be blessed by Mayor Pamintuan when the latter will be ending his term as the city’s local chief executive later on.
Cauguiran is definitely qualified, taking from his vast experiences in public service and administration. He is a great political tactician and a kingmaker.
While at the helm of the CIAC, he deserves credit for the continuous growth and development of the Clark International Airport since he assumed its leadership. The increase in the number of airlines and flights is a vivid manifestation that the airport is now being given the big break it long deserves.
