Local officials to swear in as PDP-Laban Jan. 27

LOCAL government officials of Cagayan de Oro and Misamis Oriental will be sworn in as official members of the ruling party, Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), at 9 a.m. Saturday at the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) gym here.

In the city, all majority members of Cagayan de Oro City Council, some from Liberal Party and former Padayon Pilipino members, will shift alliances to PDP-Laban today.

Mayor Moreno and Vice Mayor Rainer Joaquin Uy will also join the oath-taking.

Local PDP-Laban chairman Marlo Tabac said the politicians will take their oath in front of Senate President Koko Pimentel who arrived here Friday.

In an interview, Vice Mayor Uy also confirmed he will shift alliances to the PDP-Laban.

"It's showing our support to president in his programs, basta anything for development, count me in. Willing ta basta kaayohan sa dakbayan, para sa tao, naa ko diha pirminti," Uy said.

Second District Representative Maxie Rodriguez, 1st District Representative Rolando Uy, and Misamis Oriental 1st District Representative Peter Unabia are also expected to join the oath-taking.
