MEMBERS of Piston-Cebu joined the nationwide transport strike on Monday, February 27, to protest the phase-out of public utility jeepneys.
Many commuters were stranded in different parts of Metro Cebu due to the strike.
Local government units, however, have provided trucks and buses that would ferry stranded commuters to their destinations.
Cebu City Councilor Dave Tumulak said 10 buses will be on standby at 3 p.m. Monday to ferry the stranded passengers.
Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña said transport strike did not affect much in the city Monday morning, but added that the effects could be felt this afternoon. (VoxPop Philippines)
