LPA spotted off Batanes

MANILA -- The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) spotted a low pressure area (LPA) near the province of Batanes on Sunday.

Pagasa said in its 5:00 a.m. weather advisory that the LPA was located at 465 kilometers east northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.

The agency said the southwest monsoon will continue to bring light to moderate rains and thunderstorms, through cloudy skies, over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, and Babuyan Group of Islands.

The rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

The weather bureau said Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough due to moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest.

Other areas will have slight to moderate sea conditions brought by light to moderate winds, Pagasa said. (PNA)
