CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Lubao Mayor Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab has been elected as new president of the Pampanga Mayors League (PML) during Friday's meeting of the group's officers and members composed of the different mayors of the various towns of the province.
Cayabyab, the daughter of Governor Lilia Pineda and sister to Vice-Gov. Dennis Pineda, was elected on Friday in the capital city.
Other officers include Executive Vice-President Mayor Emmanuel "Bon" Alejandrino of Arayat town; Vice-President for the First District Magalang Mayor Malu Lacson; Vice-President for the Second District Dante Torres of Guagua; Vice-President for the Third District Teddy Tumang of Mexico; and Vice-President for the Fourth District Leonora Wong of San Simon.
Elected as secretary general is Mayor Edgar Flores along with Treasurer Mayor Annette Balgan, Auditor Condralito dela Cruz, Public Relations Officer Mayor Venancio Macapagal and Business Manger Mayor Danilo Baylon.
Pineda-Cayabyab said that she will work for the continued unity of the mayors through leadership. She added that the PML is aimed at pursuing the interests of the constituents of the different municipalities adding that she will continually assist the mayors in the leadership and program agenda.
"We only need to follow the programs of government on the municipal level," Pineda-Cayabyab said, adding that they will also assist first term mayors.
She said that the PML will strive to maintain a good communication network between all mayors and their administrators to facilitate programs of the PML and the government.
