MABALACAT CITY -- Mayor Crisostomo Garbo has vowed to sustain the City Government feeding program in public schools to end malnutrition among children coming from indigent families.
Garbo said that some 2,488 school children in Mauaque Maragul Elementary School and Mawaque Resettlement Elementary School benefitted from the recent supplemental feeding program sponsored by the local government unit.
The mayor lauded the City Social Welfare and Development Office for leading the implementation of the project.
Garbo also led the topical fluoride application for the students of Dau Elementary School. The project, he said, was conducted by the Provincial Health Office in cooperation with the city’s health office.
The mayor earlier vowed to prioritize health programs for his indigent constituents.
Garbo said he has allotted some P15-million for the establishment of a central pharmacy, P15-million for medical assistance, and P10-million for burial assistance.
