MABALACAT City Vice Mayor Christian Halili has lauded the Seventh-Day Adventist Church for implementing various community projects that benefit children’s home and indigent communities here.
Halili said the church, through its Adventist Community Services, has been helping the local government by conducting medical and dental mission and other civic programs.
Halili expressed his support to the Seventh-Day Adventist during the Colorful Fun Run, a fund raising event aimed at supporting the medical and feeding programs of the religious organization.
“We support all of their activities just like this Colorful Run. We assisted the group by looking for a venue and media coverage. We acknowledge what they do for the community. They conduct outreach program for the people,” the vice mayor said.
When President Duterte waged a war against illegal drugs, the religious organization started participating and coordinating with the city government and conducted community service, according to Halili.
“This is one way to eradicate our problem on illegal drugs. Our youth will be involved in sports activities like this fun run organized by the Adventist,” Halili said.
About 100 runners joined the Colorful Fun Run held in Clark last Thursday, Rafael Gramonte, events coordinator, said.
