IT FEELS like you are in Walt Disney’s world as SM Lanang Premier transformed its Atrium into a mini Mickey Mouse village where some iconic features of the well-loved children’s show can be found.
Upon visiting the mall’s “Merry Magical Disney Christmas” set-up, both the children and young-at-heart will get the chance to enjoy the sight of Mickey Mouse’s house as well as Minnie Mouse’s pink and purple-themed abode. Visitors may also like to check Goofy’s Café and have their photos taken there as well.
Launched on November 5, the special Christmas display is in collaboration with The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia and will run until January 8, 2017.
In his opening remarks during the launching ceremony of the mall’s grand Christmas village, SM Supermalls Mindanao vice president for operations Oliver Tiu shared how exciting it is to have the world-renowned characters as part of SM Lanang Premier’s holiday fixtures.
“Here at SM Lanang Premier, we are so thrilled to bring you a Merry Magical Disney Christmas in partnership with no less than the world’s leading family entertainment group- The Walt Disney Company. We are honored that the SM Partnership with Disney has finally reached the shores of Mindanao,” Tiu said.
“With this, Christmas in Davao gets Disney-fied with SM Lanang Premier’s Disney Christmas Village, and for the first time, a very special friend will join us later in this celebration to give everyone a magical Christmas experience,” Tiu added.
The grand launch of the Magical Christmas village was made even more special and exciting with the presence of Mickey Mouse and live performances of the Davao Girls Choir and SM Little Stars 2015 Grand Winner Annastacia Penny.
Capping the event was the lighting of the city’s tallest indoor holiday tree decked with Disney-inspired ornaments that surely brings happy holiday vibes to the mall-goers.
