A MAN was arrested on Thursday afternoon, February 15, after he stabbed his 65-year-old mother, whom he accused of stealing his viand, in Barangay Calambua, San Remigio town, Cebu.
Senior Police Officer 3 Jovanne Placencia, investigator, identified the suspect as Edgar Vosutros.
The suspect's mother Zosima Vosutros, a widow, was hit in the left thigh. She was out of danger after her wound was treated by a barangay health worker.
Investigation showed Edgar, a tapasero (sugarcane farmer), came home drunk and looked for his viand, cooked pork.
He allegedly got mad after he could not find the food and accused his mother of stealing it.
Placencia said Zosima got irked and confronted her son. In the middle of their argument, Edgar grabbed a knife and attacked his mother.
After seeing his wounded mother, Edgar did not inflict more wounds.
Placencia said Edgar will face a frustrated parricide complaint if the suspect's mother will execute an affidavit. (KAL/VoxPop Cebu)
