AN armed person was killed in an alleged shootout with the police in Sitio Toong, Barangay Poblacion 3, Carcar City last Tuesday night.

Police identified the man as a certain “Kyle.”

Before the alleged shootout happened at 8 p.m., police received a call from a resident reporting about a person who was brandishing a .38 revolver in Toong.

A team of police officers led by PO2 Madison Singco went to the area and asked the man to drop his gun, but the latter allegedly opened fire at them. No one among the officers got hit.

PO1 Repolidon and PO1 Nick Heli Tabasa retaliated, hitting Kyle in different parts of his body.

Singco’s team rushed Kyle to the Cebu Provincial Hospital in the city, but the attending doctor declared him dead on arrival.

The responding officers recovered the gun, nine bullets, two empty shells and other items from the suspect.

At 4:40 a.m. on the same day, an old woman was found floating lifeless in the seawaters in the marine sanctuary off Barangay Alegria, Cordova town.

Investigators led by PO3 Reynaldo Binatero reported that the woman was possibly in her mid ‘60s. She was clad in pink blouse, black pants and light pink sleepers.
