THE mandatory drug testing for local government personnel is 90 percent completed, City Legal Officer Jesus Carbon said.
The drug testing for all officials, executives and employees of the Zamboanga City Government was mandated by Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar through Executive Order 188, pursuant to the unified national campaign of President Rodrigo Duterte against illegal drugs.
Carbon said that a total of 1,967 drug tests have already been conducted for local Government employees based on the data of the City Health Office.
Carbon said that nine results were submitted for confirmation to the Department of Health Central Office, and of this number, four were found positive.
He said a number of employees who were tested positive for drug use voluntarily resigned before the start of the investigation launched by the City Government.
He added the rest who remain with the City Government are required to submit written explanations.
