SENATOR Ferdinand Marcos Jr. denied allegations that he falsified his credentials at the prestigious Oxford University and Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
“To set the record straight, my educational record, as posted in the Senate website and in my own official website, is accurate,” Marcos said Tuesday.
Marcos said he took up political science in Oxford University in England from 1975 to 1978.
He also indicated that he pursued a masters degree in business administration in Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania in the United States from 1979 to 1981.
Social news network Rappler came out with a report on Tuesday questioning the senator's educational attainment.
Rappler’s report said the senator's name did not appear in the list of graduates, based on the Oxford University and Wharton School records.
But Marcos said he earned his diploma in political science at St. Edmund Hall, Oxford Universtiy in England in 1978.
Marcos admitted that he was not able to finish his masters degree at Wharton because he was elected Ilocos Norte vice governor in 1980. (Sunnex)
