AMID the latest trouble his father, Mark Anthony Fernandez, has gotten himself into, showbiz newbie Grae Fernandez assured support to the actor.
The Star Magic artist and "Gimme 5" member said Mark Anthony is still the "best dad" even though the latter was linked to illegal drug use.
He tweeted: "No matter what people say about you, I will always be proud to be your son because you're the best dad."
Mark Anthony made headlines Monday evening when he was arrested in Pampanga for possession of a kilo of marijuana.
On Tuesday, he tested positive for using marijuana but negative on methamphetamine hydrochloride or commonly known as shabu.
Fernandez admitted in a television interview that he is using the illegal substance to lessen his chances of acquiring cancer.
"Gamot ko 'yun pang kontra cancer. Ang alam ko at pagkakaintindi ko ay gusto nilang (gawing) legal ang marijuana. (Kaya) hindi ako nag-atubili na bumili," he said.
This is not the first time Mark Anthony was involved in illegal drugs.
In 2004, he voluntarily entered the Bicutan Rehabilitation Center. Six months after, the actor came out of the facility and tried to regain his showbiz career.
As of this writing, the actor is still under the police custody and facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. (Sunnex)
