MASANTOL -- The local government here, together with the 2017 Fiesta Committee, announced some of the activities that will highlight this year’s celebration of town fiesta.
Mayor Danilo Guintu and Municipal Tourism officer Mercy Manansala led the launching of the calendar of activities which will start on Friday, April 28.
The series of events will be kicked off by a Holy Mass and procession followed by a fireworks display at the St. Michael the Archangel Church patio.
A battle of the bands is also set on Saturday, April 29, that will be participated by 10 groups of amateur musicians from the province.
Various seafood which are the signature products of this town will also take centerstage anew during the third year of Seafood Festival to be held on May 1 and 2 at the Masantol Multi-purpose Center.
The said homegrown fest will also feature different colorful and innovative costumes in the street dancing parade to be participated in by the villages.
Various fund-raising events are also slated like the Balikbayan Ball hosted by the El Circulo Masantoleño and the colorful Zumba Party to be held both on May 3.
Masantoleño music lovers are also expected to jam with the Parokya ni Edgar band and other local artists during the Masantol Music Festival scheduled on May 6 at the town’s multi-purpose center.
The fiesta celebration will be highlighted by the annual fluvial parade to be participated by hundreds of faithful devotees of St. Michael the Archangel.
Guintu said the activities are set to entertain the public, especially Masantoleños, as part of this year’s celebration of the town fiesta.
However, he reminded that the fiesta is not only about the celebration, but is also about renewing the faith of every Masantoleño for their patron saint, Apung San Miguel, as well as to Jesus Christ.
