Metro Retail vows to take care of employees

METRO Retail Stores Group Inc. (MRSGI) on Saturday, January 6, assured that it will take care of its employees at the Metro Ayala branch, where emergency responders are continuing to battle a fire that broke out about 20 hours ago.

"The safety and security of our employees are our primary concern. We will take care of them," said Vincent Tomaneng, MRSGI corporate secretary and chief legal counsel.

Whether the fire will impact on the company's bottom line for this fiscal year, Tomaneng said their finance department could not say yet.

MRSGI, which went public in November 2015, is the only Gaisano-owned frm listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange

As of September 2017, the company reported a strong financial performance. It operates 52 stores in the Visayas, Metro Manila and Luzon.
