THE Department of Justice (DOJ) has directed the Bureau of Immigration (BI) to place on its lookout list the owners of Mighty Corporation.

The directive to place Alexander Dy Wongchuking and Caesar Dy Wongchuking under BI's monitoring came two days after President Rodrigo Duterte ordered Alexander's arrest for economic sabotage over the company's alleged use of fake cigarette tax stamps.

According to Immigration spokesperson Antonette Mangrobang, the BI received the order on Tuesday, March 7.

Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II has also directed the National Prosecution Service to expedite the legal proceedings once charges against the said individuals are already filed with the DOJ.

The 70-year-old tobacco company is facing a potential P1-billion tax evasion case following the Bureau of Customs' discovery of the cigarettes with fake tax stamps in a raid in the firm's several warehouses. (VoxPop Philippines)
