Mindanao franchise expo set in Davao City

DAVAO Region is in the forefront in the franchise industry with more companies in the country are engaging in franchising in the area, the Filipino International Franchise Association (Fifa) said.

With this, Fifa is set to stage the Mindanao Franchise Expo at Abreeza Ayala-Mall in Davao City slated on September 9 to 11.

During the three-day event, some 250 franchise opportunities will showcase from Manila, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Davao and Singapore brought by RK Franchise Consultancy, the expert in the Franchise Development business, PT&T, White Aura, 7-Eleven, Promate and 2Go Express.

Among the exhibitors are 7Eleven, Aquastar, Bigby’s, Bon Appetea, Botoy’s Litson Manok, CMA, Contours, Eastern Petroleum, Foss Coffee, H2O Lifesource, House of Frappe, Metrodog, Mia maison, Motormate, Mr. Softy Ice Cream, Murang Generics Pharmacy, OZ Racing, Premium Graphics, PTT Philippines, Shawarma House, Tropical C Fresh, U3Cafe and White Aura beside of Business support companies for equipments, software and services.

The expo is open to the public for free.

Apart from the exhibit itself, a franchise seminar by Senior Franchise Consultant Rudolf Kotik, who is responsible for the success of 570 Filipino Franchise Companies, will be conducted on September 12 at Grand Regal Hotel Mei King Function Room.

He will be discussing about What is Franchising, History of Franchising, Defining Franchising, Franchising 101, What does a Franchise provide, Benefits of buying a Franchise, How to select a Franchise, Advantages and Demands of Franchising, Mistakes by Franchise Buyers, Buying a Franchise, Franchising your business, Legal Franchise Requirements and explains a Franchise Operations Manual.

Also, trademark Specialist Sokrie Malaco will explain the importance of a Trademark for anyone’s business and how to get one.

According to Philippine Franchise Association (PFA), they saw a lot of potential Davao-based small and medium enterprises that can go big and be tapped for franchising.

Dr. Alan Escalona, president of PFA and Chief Operating Officer of Fruit Magic told said that part opf their commitment is using franchising in “developing the economy by creating enterprises and jobs through franchising.”

Franchising, according to PFA, refers to the method of practicing and using another’s perfected business concept.

According to PFA’s latest data, number of franchises in the country reached some 1,500 with combined sales at US$13 billion. Of the 1,500, 68 percent are local companies while only 32 percent are foreign franchising firms.

The 10th Mindanao Franchise Expo is also in partnership with VoxPop, Mindanao Times, Davao Edge and FranchisingPH Magazine. (ASP)
