Minor, drug peddler collared

TWO drug pushers including a minor were arrested in a drug bust by personnel of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera on Wednesday, August 16.

A 17–year-old construction worker, from Talisay, Davao and presently residing at East Quirino Hill Barangay, Baguio City was taken into custody after he was caught at the staging area of Middle Quirino Hill Barangay.

Confiscated from the minor were one heat-sealed transparent plastic

sachet containing suspected shabu, drug bust money amounting to P500 and a cellular phone.

In another operation, Daryl Buyawe Dominguez, 28, a native of Baang, Bauko, Mt. Province and presently residing at Boted, Tawang, La Trinidad, Benguet was also collared after he handed a sachet of illegal drugs to one of the police operatives who paused as a poseur-buyer in front of the Marosan’s Restaurant Shilan, La Trinidad.

Confiscated from his possession were three heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, one disposable lighter, two electrical tape, one cellphone, one double mint container, P650 cash and buy bust money amounting to P1,000.

The minor was turned-over to the Social Development Center, in Irisan, Baguio City while Dominguez is now under the custody of the concerned operating unit and appropriate charge was filed against him in court.

PRO-Cor regional director Chief Supt. Francis Elmo Sarona meanwhile said the police will continue to penetrate every corner of the region and will spare no one in the campaign against illegal drugs to be able to win the battle. (Roderick Osis)
