DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said a third district barangay captain manifested interest to fill in the vacant post in the council.

The mayor, in a press conference Monday, January 22, said that Mintal barangay captain Ramon Bargamento approached her and expressed his interest for the vacant post in the council left by former councilor and now Vice Mayor Bernard Al-ag.

"Giingnan nako siya nga maghulat-hulat nalang 'ta unsa ang masabutan (I told him that we just have to wait for the decision of the party)," she said.

Duterte-Carpio said the party will then endorse their bet to President Rodrigo Duterte who will be the one to appoint the new councilor.

Al-ag had to leave the council to replace Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, who resigned last December.

During the interview with the mayor, Duterte-Carpio said her brother is doing well.

"I understand naga-focus siya sa iyang anak and most of the time naa ra siya sa balay (I understand that he is focusing now on his children and he is at home most of the time)," she said.
