MISS Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach is set to meet Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle in Manila on Monday to turnover her donations to an event sponsored by the social action arm of the Archdiocese of Manila.
The courtesy call is scheduled at 9 a.m. on December 12, 2016 at the Arzobispado de Manila where the beauty queen will present her donations to Cardinal Tagle for the Celebrity and Friends Pre-loved Luxury Brands Sale of Caritas Manila.
The event is for the benefit of the Youth Servant Leadership & Education Program (YSLEP).
Wurtzbach is among the celebrities who gave donations for the first Celebrity and Friends Pre-loved bazaar to be held from December 13 to 14, 2016 at Glorietta 5 Atrium, Ayala Center in Makati City.
All proceeds, including the entrance fee of P250/person, will go to the program that aims to provide quality education for the poor.
YSLEP is the flagship program of Caritas Manila, which extends financial assistance to poor but deserving youth, and trains and hones these young people not only for academic excellence, but also to become servant leaders and good members of the community.
There are currently more than 5,000 youth nationwide under the program.
With over four million out-of-school children and youth in the country, YSLEP aims to reach out to them, especially in the poorest areas of the Visayas and Mindanao. (FP/Sunnex)
