THE Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Davao Region filed additional supplemental affidavits against three named suspects of the Roxas night market blast last Friday.
Prosecutor Jay Karel Sanchez, in an interview yesterday, said that CIDG filed supplemental affidavits of two witnesses, identifying the three respondents in their suspect list.
"The three individuals who are now considered respondents by virtue of the supplemental affidavits are the following, Mustafa Urbano Musali, Wendel Apostol Facturan, and TJ Tagabaya Macabalang," Sanchez said.
She added that these are the same individuals who were arrested and presented to the media two weeks ago.
Sanchez said that the three respondents will undergo preliminary investigation and the panel have already sent subpoenas for the three suspects to file their counter affidavits.
The prosecutor said that an amount of time will be given for the respondent to answer the complaint.
"They will be given 10 days from receipt of the subpoenas to file their counter affidavit. That is the reason why the panel is needing more time to resolve the case purposely to afford these individuals their constitutional right," Sanchez said.
She said that aside from supplemental affidavits, there are also other evidences presented for the consideration of the panel.
Sanchez said that the panel needs additional time because of the new evidences submitted, adding that the special panel if fact was ready to release the resolution of the case last Friday but it was not pushed through given the development.
Sanchez said that she is not certain though if the three additional suspects belong to the five John Does included in the initial complaint, yet, the only thing that she is certain of is that the three individuals were the ones apprehended by the military.
It can be recalled that John Does, three Jane Does, and one identified suspect has been implicated by authorities in the Roxas night market blast in their affidavit of complaints filed last September 16.
The said respondents are facing charges for multiple counts of murder and frustrated murder.
