THE Davao City Civil Registration Office (CCRO) recorded more marriage registrations from January to August this year as compared to the same period in 2015.
Juliet Gasatan, CCRO registration officer IV, said the office has recorded 5,685 marriage registrations from January to August this year, higher compared to 5,282 total marriage registrations for the same period in 2015.
There were also 3,677 couples who applied for marriage license this year, which is higher compared to 3,544 who applied for marriage license last year, Gasatan said.
"I do not have the exact figures but based sa nakikita namin dito, karamihan sa mga nagpapakasal ay ang babata pa, nasa edad 18 to 20s kung ikukumpara natin sa may edad na o matanda na," Gasatan said.
Gasatan said a lot of couples opted to be married in January, May and December - the peak months of marriage contract applications based on their records.
